Packages

When the job is done, the easiest way to distribute the templates is to create a package. A package is a self-install executable containing the main template as well as all necessary files such as linked templates, images, libraries, etc.

When executing, the package (optionally) presets the Templates section of setupit.exe. if Touch-It is not installed, the installation fails. Administrative privileges are required to install packages.

The project must be saved before testing or compiling .

Package decription

The Package decription is the text of the wizard when executing the package asking to confirm installation.

Default setup

The Default setup section defines whether the template must be registered in the Touch-It setup. Only registered templates can be called from the Keyboard menu or invoked using Windows messages.
Note that only the first template need to be registered. Linked templates usually use the same settings (zoom, opacity). However registring more than one template by package is allowed if different settings must be applied.

Description: is a short text displayed in the Keyboard menu.

Position: Select wheter the template must be registered and at which screen position.

  • Not installed: The package is not registered.
  • Appbar (Red): The keyboard stands on a edge of the screen.
    • It cannot be moved with the mouse.
    • The working area is reduce of the keyboard size.
    • The keyboard cannot be hidden by a full screen window.
  • Corners (Orange): The keyboard stands in a corner of the screen.
    • It cannot be moved with the mouse.
    • Bottom corners position depend on the Windows taskbar.
  • Floating (Yellow): The keyboard can be moved freely on the screen or between monitors.

Monitor: In a multi monitor environment, select on which screen the keyboard must be displayed.

Default: Select whether this keyboard must be open when Touch-It startup.

Opacity: lets the desktop show through. This setting affect all the keyboard. If partial transparency only are needed, the use of 32bits png images with alpha chanel is required.

External files

Packing procedure scans template files and automatically add required files such as other templates and images. However you may need to distributes other files such as help files or libraries. The External files field is provided for this purpose.

The files added manually appears in black. Files added when testing or compiling are in gray.

Zoom by resolution

Select the zoom to apply for each screen resolution. Other resolution such as 16/9 screens can be added.

The buttons allows to:

  • 100%: Quickly set back the X and Y zoom to 100%.
  • X only: Adjust the width of the keyboard to the screen width.
  • Y only: Adjust the height of the keyboard to the screen height.
  • Both: Adjust the width and the height of the keyboard to the screen size.
To keep the keyboard proportional, press either X only or Y only and adjust the other value manually.

When executing the package and if the screen resolution is not found in the file, 100% is used. If the keyboard is bigger than the screen size, a dialog appears to choose whether the keyboard should be adjusted to the screen.
