Focus change

The Focus change feature allows to automatically open a specific keyboard based on one or more conditions which are application name, window and field class names.

Active : Enable or disable The Focus change feature.

No requirement defines the behaviour when no keyboard is needed.

  • Keep last keyboards visible : No action. The current keyboards remain visible.
  • Minimze : Hide the keyboard and restore the work area.
  • Reload default keyboards : Reload the keyboards selected in the Startup section.

Any field allows to open keyboards whatever is the focused field. To select specific keyboards by application or field, do as follow:

Prior to add a new Focus change, be sure the 3rd party application is running and the desired window is visible. Then press the Add button. Just move your mouse over the desired field or window and click the left button. Note that the setup window is minimized during this process.
After clicking the 3rd party application, a new window pops up to allows you to select the level of accuracy required.

i.e.

  • You wish to use the same keyboard for the whole application. Tick only the application property.
  • You wish to have the keyboard opened with a specific window class, system wide. Tick only the window property. (For example the standard Save as dialog box. Window class name: #32770)
  • With a specific field type of a 3rd party application, tick the Application and field properties.
After saving, new nodes are added to the tree. You can then select keyboards at each node level.

At runtime, if there are redondancies between nodes, the priority is managed as follow:

  • Application, window, field.
  • Application, field.
  • Application, window.
  • Window, field.
  • Field.
  • Window.
  • Application.
  • Any Field

The Floating (Append) keyboard position opens a floating keyboard and moves it right beneath the field (or window). If there is not enough room between the bottom of the field and the bottom of the screen, the keyboard is placed above.
